Note
Students who do not meet the admission requirements may be eligible for admission to the Master of Information Technology (C04295), the Graduate Certificate in Information Technology (C11142) or the Graduate Certificate in Information Technology Studies (C11247).

Local student
In most cases, UTS offers domestic students entry to postgraduate courses on a fee paying basis.
Tuition fees are charged:
- based on the particular course in which you are enrolled
- based on the number of credit points in which you are enrolled

Depending on the major selected, career options include a wide variety of positions in the IT industry, including business intelligence expert, e-business developer, games developer, information systems manager, IT security analyst, IT security manager, ICT security analyst, IT security consultant, pen testing, IT project manager, movie animator, software architect, software quality/testing specialist and systems analyst.

Course duration
The course duration is two years of full-time or four years of part-time study.

To be eligible for admission to this course, applicants must meet the following criteria.
Applicants must have one of the following qualifications in Information Technology:
- Completed Australian master’s or doctoral degree, or overseas equivalent
OR
- Completed Australian bachelor's degree, graduate certificate or graduate diploma, or overseas equivalent, with more than 75% of all subjects completed at pass level (conceded pass not included)
Applicants are required to have satisfactorily completed subjects in programming, data modelling, and networking equivalent to the Professional stream (IT) component of C04295 Master of Information Technology.
Applicants with an IT background who do not meet the criteria above should consider applying for C11142 Graduate Certificate in Information Technology. Applicants with a background in any other discipline should consider the C04295 Master of Information Technology or C11247 Graduate Certificate in Information Technology Studies.
The English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is: IELTS Academic: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL iBT: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64 with a writing score of 50; or C1A/C2P: 176-184 with a writing score of 169.

International studentsVisa requirement: To obtain a student visa to study in Australia, international students must enrol full time and on campus. Australian student visa regulations also require international students studying on student visas to complete the course within the standard full-time duration. Students can extend their courses only in exceptional circumstances.

Subject exemption through recognition of prior learning (RPL) is not available for this course.
Other/additional RPL may be granted via subject substitution to an alternative/advanced postgraduate subject in a similar field of study.
