This video shows the impact of Covid-19 on community transport movements throughout NSW. Community transport provides vital mobility services to people who need assistance to travel. Prior to the pandemic, community transport movements were high, particularly in metropolitan Sydney and regional hubs. However, community transport use was strongly impacted at the height of Covid-19, with the average trip length also falling due to travel restrictions during lockdowns. Trip numbers bounced back close to pre-pandemic levels in June 2020 - 21.
The data used in this video was provided by Transport for NSW as part of a joint project (The Future of Community Transport) by the Institute for Public Policy and Governance, ITS Australia, iMOVE, and four state transport agencies. Data visualisation kindly produced by ITO World Australia.
