UTS Ambassadors contribute to thought leadership on strategic university priorities at a one-day thought leadership forum, held annually on campus.
Outcomes include a Forum Report, a showcase of UTS research to alumni worldwide, and alumni advocacy.
Please see below for more information on each year’s topic.
2024 Forum: Leading AI Health Innovation
The second UTS Alumni Forum was held in August 2024 with the theme of Leading AI health innovation – from local partnerships to global impact.
20 UTS Ambassadors provided thought leadership on Health and AI, working with the Institute of Sustainable Futures (ISF) and sponsored by Professor Debra Anderson, Dean, UTS Faculty of Health.
They were joined by 10 academics who showcased their research in AI and health. 40 university leaders and guests made powerful connections at a networking lunch.
Before the Forum, comprehensive background materials were disseminated – including profiles of leading academics’ work, and video interviews highlighting the relevance to the Forum topic.
The Forum explored how AI can directly impact – and benefit – healthcare for Australians, with worldwide implications.
Ambassadors were galvanised to advocate for UTS and build connections and partnerships. The Forum Report will be utilised by the UTS Faculty of Health to inform future strategy.
As one Ambassador wrote afterwards: ‘What a terrific day, and inspirational session. The quality of academics was clear evidence of how professional and international the university has become’.
2023 Forum: Ageing in Place
The inaugural UTS Alumni Forum was held in September 2023.
A diverse group of UTS Ambassadors came together to provide thought leadership on the future of ageing in place, in conjunction with the UTS Ageing Research Collaborative (UARC) and Institute of Sustainable Futures (ISF).
Prior to the Forum, alumni were provided with Background Materials developed by UARC, which introduced the core problem – care for ageing Australians is unsustainable in its current form and will become an even bigger challenge in the years to come.
Expertly guided by academics from UARC and ISF, alumni explored current challenges around ageing in Australia, emerging innovations, and visions for the future – including a world where older people are empowered, connected and valued.
Forum outcomes are being communicated to global alumni through Re-Branding Ageing, with great thanks to our UTS Ambassadors.
