AAII and Faculty of Health Join Forces to Revolutionise Women’s Health

Researchers from AAII and UTS Faculty of Health at the first collaboration meeting.
The Australian Artificial Intelligence Institute (AAII) and UTS Faculty of Health are excited to launch a collaboration to drive innovation in women’s health. This collaboration aims to foster research collaborations between AI and health, establish a framework on AI for Women’s Health, and deliver sustainable development and impactful solutions for women’s health by applying advanced AI technology.
By leveraging UTS’s world-leading expertise in AI and health/women’s health, this collaboration aims to integrate AI to address the health needs of women in ways that enhance service delivery, improve patient outcomes, and address the persistent health equity gap. This initiative is grounded in cutting-edge AI research focused on being human-centred, personalised health, ethical, and geared towards the public good. This vision aligns with a broader research priority in Australia, where AI is increasingly recognised as critical to improving health outcomes and advancing healthcare services.
At the first meeting hosted by AAII on 24 Jan 2025, several AAII groups and members presented their current healthcare-related projects and initiatives, including advancements in genomics for breast cancer and endometriosis, endocrine system modelling, and large-scale health data analysis. The meeting highlighted the potential of advanced AI technologies to act as a collaborative network spanning numerous organisations, enabling more effective and comprehensive women’s health data utilisation. Faculty of Health will host the second meeting in March.
The collaboration hopes to lead the change in mobilising global expertise and setting new frameworks in AI-empowered women’s health, emphasising both innovation and impact.
