Brennan Program Ask Me Anything Yarning Circles Autumn 2025 #2

Throughout your degree at UTS, you will hear and learn about different cultural practices, historical stories, and lived experiences related to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Even before you finish your studies and enter the workforce, you may perform an Acknowledgement of Country, undertake cultural awareness training or discuss, understand and be asked to adhere to anti-racism policies.

But how does this relate to you as a non-Indigenous person? In your courses, you may not have time or feel comfortable enough to ask questions to get the full story about what all this means.

Over 1-2 hours, these 'Ask me anything' workshops, also called 'yarning circles', are designed to provide you with a safe space to ask those questions and have conversations you might not get the chance to otherwise.

Do you have questions but don't know who to ask? Join Nyampia Wailwan and Darkinjung woman Shellee Murphy-Oates for a yarn and ask away.

It's also a great way to build your Reflections on Justice (ROJ) points.
