This course is tailored for investment, property, and finance professionals seeking to excel in the global real estate investment market. You will emerge with advanced knowledge in investment vehicles, capital markets, and financial management, as well as insights into retail, office, and commercial property investments. The course also delves into real estate investment trusts and funds management.
Learning is designed to fit your professional life, with most subjects offered in intensive blocks and two MBA subjects in evening sessions. Networking opportunities arise naturally among a peer group of accomplished professionals.
For those interested, the course can be expanded to include property development, leading to a Master of Property Development and Investment.
Through this degree students learn to understand and analyse the many sociopolitical, economic, financial and environmental factors that drive property investment decisions in a globalised world. students benefit from the faculty staff's academic research and significant industry experience. A number of the course's sessional lecturers have over 30 years' corporate experience.
Students are standout professionals, with a strong record in their industry and recognised qualifications. This calibre of students enables unique networking opportunities and rewarding peer-to-peer learning. Most subjects are offered in intensive blocks that accommodate busy work lives.
The UTS Master of Real Estate Investment may also be studied as a degree incorporating property development, the UTS Master of Property Development and Investment.

Course aims
The course deals in depth with investment vehicles, capital markets, financial management, and the underlying drivers of property values. Specialised subjects investigate the investment considerations associated with retail, office, and other commercial assets. Real estate investment trusts and funds management are covered in depth in separate subjects.

This degree provides the analytical skills for professionals to be promoted more rapidly into decision-making and leadership positions, or gain access to boutique real estate investment firms.
Career opportunities may include advising or managing property investment portfolios, acquisitions and sales, within the property or finance industry, or working for a specialist research firm that does market analysis, forecasting and projections. The course provides new career options for people who work within the property and finance sectors, including analysts, valuers, managers, advisors, economists and accountants.

The course is offered on a one-and-a-half-year, full-time or three-year, part-time basis. The course features intensive block attendance patterns.

Applicants must have one of the following:
- Completed Australian bachelor's degree, or overseas equivalent, in Real Estate, Valuation, Building Construction Economics, Engineering, Business Management, Finance, or Management and Commerce

- Completed Australian master’s degree, or overseas equivalent, in Property or Real Estate, Business, Finance, Commerce, or Economics
OR
- Completed UTS Graduate Certificate or UTS Graduate Diploma in Property Development
OR
- Completed Australian bachelor's degree or higher qualification, or overseas equivalent, in any field of study AND A minimum of 2 years full-time, or equivalent part-time, relevant professional experience.
Applicants who do not meet the criteria above should consider applying for C11271 Graduate Certificate in Property Development.
