Overview
The WEM Civil Scholarship for Construction and Engineering aims to support a broad range of students in the Engineering and Construction disciplines and engage students to deepen their understanding and experience of the work of WEM Civil and its impact in the development industry.
The Scholarship offers Construction and/or Engineering students the opportunity to receive a cash grant to support their studies as well as the opportunity to undertake a paid work placement with WEM Civil.
Who is eligible?
To be eligible for the Scholarship an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:
- Australian or New Zealand citizens, or the holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa; and
Enrolled in the first or second year of a UTS:- Bachelor of Construction Project Management course; or
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice course (majoring in Civil Engineering or Civil and Environmental Engineering); or
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), or Combined Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) course (with a major in Civil Engineering or Civil and Environmental Engineering); and
- Continuing Students:
- must have achieved Credit Average (WAM 65+) in their first year of study.
- All candidates must apply using the UTS online Scholarships Application form to be eligible.
- All candidates must be available to attend an interview in person.
- Please note previous Recipients of the WEM Scholarship are not eligible to reapply.
Selection process
As demonstrated in the Scholarship application and interview:
- Motivation and interest in their chosen UTS course;
- Personal experience and achievement;
- Preference may be given to academic merit (WAM)

Applications are currently open. Applicants must submit the WEM Civil Scholarship for Construction and Engineering online application.
Applications close at 11:59 pm on Monday 31 March 2025. Scholarships will only be awarded to candidates who attend an interview.
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
